Not a wind chime person per se, I am fond of bells at Christmas. Sleigh bells hung on the front door provide festive welcome, and I’ve always loved my Grandmother’s bell ornaments, made from antique glass.
This year I have a new seasonal favorite: cowbells. With their rustic dents, burnished patina, and deeper tone, they appear to me to be an earthier, more characterful twist on a classic. And so I was pleased to discover a new source for these kind of bells: Irona Works.
From his home in Utah, Grey Bentley indulges his “passion for working with metals” by hand-forging a vast collection of bells and chimes. Fashioned from recycled, antique metal – brass and silver – each bears the marks of its creation with pride.
(My favorite by a nose: the petite silver bells above. You can see more of my picks for rustic holiday bells at Remodelista today.)
