marnie’s garden

Marnie's Garden by Justine Hand, Pitch Fork This summer I was remiss in my posts here. Too busy living the good life to blog about it, I guess. But with fall comes a renewed sense of industry, and so…

While perusing images from the summer, I noticed a fair amount from Marnie’s garden. Thought they’d make a lovely post.

What I admire about Marnie’s garden and home is the tantalizing mix of exquisite details applied with a casual hand. The effect is engaging and intriguing. Yet freed from the tyranny of perfection, it is also welcoming and comforting.

Marnie’s space is also continually in flux. Fresh shells from a recent meal, as yet uncrushed by the wheels of future travelers, are a new surprise from the week before. A newly bloomed flower, or a flea market find waiting for the right spot to present itself, are small clues that hint at the life that goes on in Marnie’s house. It always makes me feel like a kid on a treasure hunt.
